Ahmed Musa’s goal gives Super Eagles crucial victory over Kenya

Ahmed Musa burst through, held off a Kenyan defender and lobbed Duncan Ochieng brilliantly, to give Nigeria all three points, in their crucial World Cup qualifying game against the Harambee Stars of Kenya.

The game started with the Nigerians in full control, pushing forward and creating chances, but the Kenyan defence held firm. Brown Ideye had the best chance of thee half, but failed to score, even as possession evened out.

In the second half, Oduamadi burst through on the left, but opted to shoot straight at the keeper, rather than pass to Ideye. However, in the 81st minute, Musa ran onto a long pass from Mikel Obi and showed bravery to outmuscle a defender and lift the ball over the keeper.

The victory – Keshi’s first away win – takes the Eagles two points clear at the top of the group, with Malawi in second with six points. Nigeria will face Namibia in Windhoek next Wednesday.
