Ahead of PDP congresses, Gov. Ugwuanyi sues for peace, unity

Ahead of the forthcoming congresses of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) nation wide, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State has appealed to party faithful to imbibe the spirit of love, unity and peace as members of one family for the party to enjoy a smooth exercise that would guarantee its success in future elections.

Governor Ugwuanyi who made the appeal during a meeting of the State Executive Committee SEC, held at the state secretariat of the party in Enugu, stressed that the progress of the party depends on how successful it conducts the congresses.

While noting that the meeting was the first after his inauguration as the governor of Enugu State, Gov. Ugwuanyi used the opportunity to thank members of the party for their contributions and support during the elections. He reassured them of his administration’s commitment to advance good governance in the state.

Earlier in his address, the State chairman of the party, Chief Ikeje Asogwa informed members of the SEC that the ward meeting of the party has been scheduled to hold on monday, march 21, in all 260 wards of the state for the purpose of updating its ward registers in preparation for the congresses.

The party chairman charged members to attend the meeting in their various wards. He added that the zoning of party offices at the state level will soon be disclosed, urging members to show more commitment to the success of the party in the state.

Other leaders of the party in attendance include the deputy governor of the state, Mrs. Cecilia Ezeilo, Speaker of the Enugu State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Edward Ubosi, Senator Gil Emeka Nnaji, Senator Chukwuka Utazi, a member of the Board of Trustees, Chief Rex Onyeabo, six members of the House of Representatives from the State, members of the State EXCO of the party, 17 LGA party chairmen, among others.
