Manchester City, Sergio Aguero, is likely to miss their next four domestic fixtures, after he was sent off in the latter stages of their 3-1 defeat to Chelsea on Saturday.
Anthony Taylor showed Aguero a red card, after the Argentine’s late lunge at Blues defender, David Luiz.
It is the second time he will be punished this season . That automatically means a four-game suspension, although the FA may decide to increase it after they review the incident.
City manager, Pep Guardiola, has come out to defend Aguero and insists the tackle was not intentional.
“It wasn’t intentional,” Guardiola told a news conference.
“Maybe I have to understand many things here but the referee says red card so red card. He was lost [suspended] before as well. OK, we are going to deal with that.”
City finished the game with 9 men, as Fernandinho was also dismissed. But the Brazilian midfielder will serve a three-match ban.
