Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero, is now the highest-scoring South American in the Premier League, after his first-half strike against Liverpool on Saturday.
The Argentine, who has been sidelined by a muscle problem, curled in a stunning effort past Simon Mignolet in the 44th minute.
It was his 85th goal in England.
The goal, which was consolation as they were thrashed 4-1, sees him overtake former City striker Carlos Tevez, who scored 84 times in the Premier League during spells with West Ham, Manchester United and Manchester City.
Luis Suarez is third with 69, while former Chelsea midfielder Gustavo Poyet is on 54 goals.
