Manchester City striker, Sergio Aguero, has chosen to appeal his violent conduct charge, with the hope he can face Manchester United in next weekend’s derby at Old Trafford.
The Argentine is facing a three-match ban, after the Football Association charged him retrospectively, for appearing to elbow West Ham defender, Winston Reid.
Aguero had been given until 6pm on Thursday, to respond to the charge.
The FA is expected to make a final decision after their meeting on Friday.
Aguero’s suspension could be increased to four games, if the FA feels his appeal was frivolous.
