National Chairman, National Action Council (NAC) Dr. Olapade Agoro on Friday berated President Muhammadu Buhari, his deputy, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, Lagos State governor, Mr. Akinwumi Ambode and others for dancing and wining with former Lagos State governor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who celebrated his 66th birthday yesterday, while Leah Sharibu, the remaining kidnapped Dapchi schoolgirl is still being held by Boko Haram terrorists.
Agoro, in a statement sent to DAILY POST on Friday morning, noted that the birthday party held in honour of the national leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, at Eko Hotels was attended by eminent personalities including Buhari, state governors, captains of industry among others, asserting that it will be painful that the Dapchi student will not celebrate the Easter festival with her parents.
The NAC presidential aspirant, while condemning those who graced the occasion where alleged millions of public funds were lavishly spent, also said it is unfortunate that those in positions of authorities were celebrating with Tinubu when suspects arrested for criminal offences escaped mysteriously from Kogi state police cells.
Agoro said, “This summaries the scene of gathering on Thursday 29th March 2018 at Eko Hotels Lagos rejoicing with Bola Ahmed Tinubu at a particular time where there is sorrow and sadness pervading the entire landscape of Nigeria with poor girl Leah Sharibu unlawfully and inhumanly held in the den of terrorists.
“Rampageous killings of innocents in droves by Fulani herdsmen fully armed with AK47 assault rifles, the socio – economic situation of the nation becoming parlous, those accused and arrested for criminal offences escaped mysteriously from Kogi State police cells to make mockery of our security.
“With this scenario of horror and shame around us all and with 2019 elections around the corner, why must the maggots not dance and wine to celebrate the birthday of the grand master – the “Jagudabam” of them all.
“One thing makes one happy however is the fact that Leah Sharibu may be lonely in the den of the animals in human skin and may not be able to celebrate with us Good Friday and the Easter festival in freedom, her case was today as promised by me pushed into the purview of International community with letters written and dispatched to delegation of European Union and United Nations.”
