Agatu killings: Senator Mark returns to crisis zone, assures of lasting solutions

For the second time within 3 days, the Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District, Dr. David Mark visited Agatu LGA on Monday.

Addressing the mammoth crowd which converged on Oshigbudu in Agatu LGA, the distinguished Senator said he would not sleep in his home as long as Agatu people are not sleeping.

According to him, there would not be peace in his mind because the people of Agatu who so much love him and stood for him during the last election do not have peace, owing to the insurgency.

Senator Mark who described the recent massacre in Agatu as “organised and calculated attacks” assured the people to remain calm as the government at all levels have been fully drafted into making sure lasting solutions to Agatu mayhem come by.

The Okpokpowulu k’Idoma also used the occasion to appreciate the resilience of the people and their resolve to stand for the Idoma agenda during the just concluded senatorial rerun election; despite the intimidation and threats from the government in power.

“In spite of the crisis in your land, you stood by me and voted massively for me in the last election. I’m internally grateful to you “, he added.

Present at the ‘thank you tour ‘ was the immediate past Minister of Interior, Comrade Abba Moro; members of the National and State Assembly; Former Deputy Governorship candidate of the PDP, Hon. John Ngbede, among others.
