Chief John Antenyi, the traditional ruler of Apa community has confirmed that the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase did not visit his community as widely reported in the media.

Antenyi was reacting to the claim by the police IG that he visited the crises-ridden Agatu and Apa communities but could not see where three hundred persons were buried, concluding that the casualty figure of the attack was exaggerated.

Reacting to the claim when the One Idoma Initiative, led by Bar Paul Edeh visited the IDP camp in Ugbokpo on Sunday with some medical personnel, the royal father said he didn’t see the police boss in his community.

“He stopped in Makurdi and didn’t come anywhere near our community. It is a big lie, very fat lie,” the angry royal father said.

Addressing newsmen shortly after the exercise, a visibly worried Edeh expressed sadness at the condition of the IDPs in camps.

He called on the relevant authorities and well-meaning Nigerians to come to their aid.
