D’Tigress completely blew Guinea away on Sunday, in their AfroBasket Women 2015 Group B game, beating their fellow West Africans 100-47.
Joyce Ekworomadu was the star of the show, as she inspired five other Nigerians to 12 points or more. Guinea’s best player was Nadia Peruch-Niang, who scored 17 points and 7 rebounds.
D’Tigress’ Helen Ogunjimi later came off the bench, to make 12 of her game-high 12 points from beyond the arc.
“I have told the girls not to worry about the score. Those teams Senegal and Nigeria are way too ahead of us. But we still have to get better and learn from our mistakes,” Peruchi-Niang told fiba.com
