AFRIMA: Yeni Kuti falls off stage while picking up Fela’s awards

Daughter of late Afro beat king, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, Yeni Kuti, fell off the stage while receiving an award on behalf of her late father at the Africa Music Awards, which held at the weekend in Lagos.

Fela was honoured with a lifetime achievement award and his daughter stepped on the stage to receive it, only to trip and fall.

The single mother of one, however got on her feet almost immediately, laughed over the fall and gave a beautiful speech as she accepted the award.

Singers Davido, Favour, Psquare, Fuse ODG, Iyanya, Timaya and Sarkodie were some of the winners of the 2014 awards.
