President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick, has dedicated the Flying Eagles’ 2-0 win over Ghana at the ongoing African Youth Championship, to President Goodluck Jonathan.
Obinna and captain Musa Muhammed, scored for Manu Garba’s team, as they defeated their West African rivals on Wednesday, to qualify for the final.
“As I said when the team won a place in the semi finals and qualified for the FIFA U-20 World Cup, there is no doubt that the great support and keen personal interest of President Jonathan in the team has been working magic,” Pinnick said.
“He took special interest in that squad since the team won a record fourth FIFA U-17 World Cup for Nigeria in 2013, and has continued to monitor the team.
“The President supports all the National Teams, but he certainly has very special interest in the U-17 world champions, who have now become the U-20 and will win the FIFA U-20 World Cup for him and the country in New Zealand in June.”
Nigeria will face the winner of Thursday’s second semi-final between hosts Senegal and Mali in Sunday’sfinal.
