Members of the pan Yoruba socio cultural organization, Afenifere will tomorrow, Wednesday hold an emergency meeting to discuss the resignation of its erstwhile leader, chief Ruben Fasoranti.
The organization is expected to meet at the residence of Fasoranti in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
It was gathered that the resignation of Fasoranti will top the agenda at the meeting.
A member of the organization who preferred anonymity told our correspondent that leaders of the organization from all parts of the country will attend the meeting.
Fasoranti had on Sunday announced his resignation as Leader of Afenifere through a letter addressed to the secretary General of the organization, Chief Seinde Arogbofa.
The elder statesman cited alleged disloyalty of members as the reason behind his decision to quit as Leader of the organization.
Commenting on the development, Chief Arogbofa said “Afenifere is an organization made up of intelligent people. We cannot rush to action in this kind of a situation. We are still consulting and I will inform you the outcome of our consultation.”
He disclosed that leaders of the organization will meet with Chief Fasoranti to discuss and also deliberate on his resignation.
