Head coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr, has insisted that their quarter-final clash against South Africa at the Africa Cup of Nations, is not about revenge.
Both teams are familiar foes, having played each other during the AFCON qualifying series.
Bafana Bafana beat Nigeria 2-0 at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, before denying them victory in a 1-1 draw in Johannesburg.
But Rohr, speaking to the NFF media on arrival in Cairo, made it clear his focus was on qualifying for the last four.
“We are here to win. It is not going to be an easy match, but surely if you have to win the Africa Cup, you will not expect to be faced with easy matches at this stage.
“We know ourselves from the qualifying campaign and it will be no holds–barred on Wednesday.
“It is not a matter of revenge; it is about reaching the semi finals,” Rohr said.
