Gernot Rohr says he will make a decision on his future as Super Eagles coach after Wednesday’s AFCON 2019 Third-Place match against the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia.
The German has come under intense criticism following the Super Eagles’ 2-1 defeat to the Desert Foxes of Algeria in their semifinal clash on Sunday.
Against that background, President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick, stated that the soccer house will retain the former Bordeaux coach despite widespread calls for his removal.
However, Rohr has hinted that he will provide answers on whether he will remain in the job or call it quits.
“For now, we have a match to play on Wednesday. It is important to finish the competition on a high. After the game tomorrow, I will come out with a statement on my future,” Rohr told Complete Sports.
The Super Eagles, Tunisia clash will take place at the Al Salam Stadium Cairo on Wednesday. Kickoff is 8pm Nigerian time.
