Super Eagles winger, Moses Simon, is confident that he and his team-mates, will recover from their 2-1 defeat to Algeria ahead of Wednesday’s third-place playoff.

William Troost-Ekong’s own goal gave the Desert Foxes the lead, before Odion Ighalo levelled in the second half.

However, with the last kick of the match, Riyad Mahrez smashed in a free-kick past Daniel Akpeyi.

Defeat to Algeria means Nigeria have been eliminated in five of their last six semi-finals at AFCON, after qualifying in six of their previous seven.

“We are very disappointed because I think we didn’t deserve it [to lose to Algeria].

“We all know how disappointing this defeat is but we are professionals and we’ll try and get this past us and fight back,” Simon told the media.
