Ghana defender Rashi Sumaila, has expressed his confidence about his team’s chances of qualifying for the quarter-finals of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Black Stars threw away a one-goal lead against Senegal and were beaten 2-1 in their first group game. They still to face Algeria and South Africa and would need to win those games to ensure qualification.

“We have what it takes to beat Algeria and South Africa. Even the first game against Senegal hard luck cost us as Atsu’s ball which hit the post could have killed the game,” Sumaila told Goal Ghana.

“We will qualify in a surprise way people will never understand. For me there is not much problem with our defense because we are playing as a team.

“So far Ghana have impressed me so much. We played well in the first half and what we should do is to put in more effort in the second half.”
