Mubarak Wakaso‘s brace against Cape Verde, has taken him to the top of the top scorers’ chart at the AFCON 2013.
The 22-year-old Ghanaian midfielder, scored from the spot in the 54th minute, to give the Black Stars the lead, before he added a second in injury time, to seal his side’s qualification for the semi-finals.
He had earlier scored against DR Congo, in their opening Group B game and joins Burkina Faso’s Alain Traore, as the joint top scorer.
Wakaso, who is making hhis debut in the competition, however stands a better chance, as Traore has been ruled out due to injury.
