Gyfli Sigurdsson’s late equaliser, was not enough to hand Andre Villas-Boas men the initiative, in the race for Champions League places.
Oscar’s early goal put Chelsea in front, before Emmanuel Adebayor scored a sensational equaliser for Spurs. The Blues should have been well out of sight, but missed a couple of clear cut chances.
However, Fernando Torres tricked his way and fed the galloping Ramires, who swept in the second goal. The Brazilian should have scored a second, but tripped at the last minute, failing to connect with Juan Mata’s lay off.
Villas-Boas brought on Sigurdsson for Lennon and the move paid off, as the Iceland international smashed in Adebayor’s back-heeled pass.
The draw leaves Chelsea on 69 points, Arsenal on 67 and Spurs on 66, with two games to go.
