Pastors in the country, who joined the political fray by endorsing or campaigning for candidates in the 2015 elections, have continued to receive knocks, as the founder and Senior Pastor of the House on the Rock Church, Pastor Paul Adefarasin, slammed men of God, who are engaging in political campaigns ahead of the 2015 elections.
Adefarasin said this while reviewing last week’s screening of the movie Selma in the church.
Speaking shortly before delivering his Sunday sermon yesterday, Adefarasin told the congregation: “I must say to you that pastors who join in these political campaigns are not wise.”
The preacher also insisted that “House on the Rock is not a partisan organisation or a political platform”, maintaining that the pulpit is not the best avenue to take a stand or advise members on which party or candidates they must vote for.
“I don’t belong to APC and PDP. I don’t belong to any political party. I belong to Jesus party. I am interested in God’s agenda in Nigeria,” he added.
He condemned the manner in which some of the political campaigns have been conducted, describing the desperation from the two leading parties as “sad and sorry”.
