The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has prayed for the immediate release of all the female students currently held captive by Boko Haram insurgents.
He made this prayer at the April 2018 Holy Ghost Service and Vigil of the Church at its prayer ground in Mowe, Ogun State, on Kilometre 45 of Lagos – Ibadan Expressway, which ended on Saturday.
Recall that Boko Haram had released some of the girls abducted from Dapchi but refused to release Leah Sharibu for insisting that she would not convert to Islam.
Daddy GO, as Adeboye is fondly called, expressed gladness over the return of about 105 students of the Government Girls’ Science and Technical College, Dapchi, Yobe, abducted by the Boko Haram terrorists in February.
“We thank God for the release of the girls and pray that all the girls yet to secure their freedom should be freed,’’ Adeboye prayed.
The cleric said he had pity for the youth whose parents were involved in evil as such evil often affected their spiritual and physical development.
The monthly programme was attended by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo and his wife, Dolapo, as well as thousands of Christian faithful.
Recall that the cleric had reacted to the refusal of Boko Haram to release Sharibu, only Christian girl among school girls abducted from Government Science Technical College in Dapchi, Yobi State.
Adeboye, as at then, prayed that Jesus Christ set every kidnapper across the country on “fire now”.
