The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has declared ‘holy war’, against ‘killer herdsmen and kidnappers in the country’.
Daddy G.O as Adeboye is commonly called while leading his congregation, at the just concluded May edition of Holy Ghost Service at the Redemption Camp noted that all Nigeria needed now was prayer.
Before his sermon, entitled ‘Victorious Grace’, Adeboye led the mammoth crowd, that included Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, to pray against shedding of blood and kidnapping across the country.
He said, “Our weapons of war are not carnal, but they are mighty for the pulling down of strongholds”.
And the congregation responded: “No more kidnapping; no more shedding of innocent blood all over the nation.”
The three prayer points, in apparent response to the menace of herdsmen and kidnapping, include: “Father, anyone planning to shed innocent blood, send down your fire to consume them all; Father, anyone who has kidnapped or is planning to kidnap as we are praying, set fire wherever he/she may be now. Enough is enough; Father, beginning from now, let things begin to get better in Nigeria!”
In his sermon, the former university don outlined some of the cardinal ingredients which would attract victorious grace to include an insatiable desire to win souls for the kingdom.
Addressing the church’s workers, the General Overseer urged them specifically to intensify efforts to win more souls for God’s Kingdom.
He said the parish pastors had been mandated to increase their membership by 100 per cent or risk losing their positions.
