Emmanuel Adebayor has made a U-turn on his decision to retire from international football and will now be involved at the Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.

The Tottenham striker had threatened not to play for Togo again, after a row over bonuses and security, but has now had a change of heart.

“Of course we’re in the African Nations Cup with Adebayor, we will be together in South Africa,” Ameyi Gabriel, the president of the Togo Football Federation told Radio Algeria International.

“It is very important to have him there because he is our player and captain of the team.”

Adebayor could now miss up to four matches for Spurs. Togo will play Ivory Coast, Tunisia and Algeria in Group D.
