Emmanuel Adebayor has been dropped from the Tottenham Hotspur squad for today’s North London derby.
The Togolese striker who earns £100,000-a-week, failed to leave White Hart Lane in the January transfer window, after Spurs chairman Daniel Levy blocked his loan move to West Ham.
Adebayor confirmed this week, that Levy sees the Hammers as a rival for top four places and that is why he pulled the plug on the deal.
Although manager Mauricio Pochettino had insisted that the 30-year-old would be welcomed back into the team, it now appears that Adebayor faces being frozen out for the rest of the season.
Adebayor also apologized to Spurs fans, who have been booing him in his last three games, over his apparent lack of goals.
