A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, in Kogi State, Alhaji Abdullahi Amana Isah has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to probe ballot paper allegations against Kogi governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.
Speaking exclusively with DAILY POST in Lokoja, he said, allegations bordering on the “thumb printed ballot papers” against the state governor by the SDP Senatorial candidate was weighty and must be probed.
He explained that Alhaji Yahaya Bello was known for cutting corners, insisting that the governor who boasted of delivering votes to APC candidates across the state never went on campaign to local government areas in the state.
“INEC must probe allegations of already thumb printed ballot papers against governor Yahaya Bello.
“Bello has boasted that he would deliver votes for all the APC candidates in the state, including President Muhammadu Buhari, but as I speak, he never took campaign to any local government in Kogi.
“The governor is known for cutting corners and in the past they have been many allegations against him. INEC as an unbiased umpire must probe Bello”, he insisted.
The ADC chieftain urged INEC to hurry the probe ahead of election rescheduled for weekend, noting that it was INEC’s fair play that could solve election crisis in Kogi Central Senatorial district.
DAILY POST recalls that the SDP Senatorial candidate, Natasha Akpoti had accused Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello of keeping thumb printed ballot papers.
