Adamawa PDP guber candidate, Fintiri reacts to inconclusive election

The gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Adamawa State, Alhaji Ahmadu Fintiri, has reacted to the inconclusive governorship election in the state.

DAILY POST had reported that the Returning Officer for Adamawa Governorship election, Prof. Andrew Haruna, had declared the election inconclusive because the number of votes cancelled in 44 polling units was higher than the margin of lead votes between the two leading contestants.

But speaking to newsmen on Monday, Fintiri, who had the highest vote of 367, 472 votes against Gov. Bindow of APC’s 334,995 votes, urged his supporters to remain calm and steadfast as victory was on sight.

He thanked the electorates for turning out en masse to participate in the election, adding that he was sure of victory.

“I want to thank the good people of this state for coming out to exercise their franchise. I also urge them to do the same in the supplementary election.

“They should demonstrate the same zeal and commitment to vote for PDP as we are already cruising to victory,” Fintiri added.
