The Governorship Election Petition Tribunal in Adamawa State has fixed Friday to give its verdict on a petition against the election of Rt Hon Ahmadu Fintiri as governor of the state.
A statement from the tribunal, said the panel was set to deliver its judgment on the petition filed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) whose candidate, Sen Jibrilla Bindow, lost to Fintiri of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the last general election.
Chairman of the Adamawa petitions tribunal, Justice Adediran Adebara, had in August after the adoption of final addresses, promised to deliver a verdict, which Adamawa people have been wondering about since then.
Fintiri had polled 376,552 votes in the March 2019 election to defeat Bindow, the governor at the time, who received 336,386 votes.
