The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has reacted to the outcome of the Adamawa State supplementary election.

PDP congratulated its candidate in the just concluded governorship election in Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri, over his victory at the supplementary polls.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had declared Finitiri winner of the Adamawa governorship election after polling 376, 552 votes.

INEC’s Returning Officer, Prof. Andrew Haruna had on Thursday in Yola, the state capital, declared the result after the supplementary election in 44 units across 14 local government areas of the state.

Haruna declared Fintiri winner after polling 376,552 votes to beat his closest rival, Gov. Muhammadu Bindow of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who scored 336,386 votes.

Reacting to the declaration, PDP said the result was a fulfillment of its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar’s desire to return the state back to the party.

In its verified Twitter handle, PDP wrote: “Hurray! The @OfficialPDPNig Guber Candidate in Adamawa State, Alhaji Ahmadu Fintiri, has been declared winner of the just concluded Guber Election.

“This is in fulfillment of our Presidential Candidate’s desire, @atiku, to return the state to the @OfficialPDPNig. Congratulations!”
