Nollywood Actress, Liz Benson has appealed to the nation’s movie industry to ignore Governor Rotimi Amaechi’s recent alleged humiliating comment on the industry and its Actors, saying there is no need paying attention to people’s impression about Nollywood stars. She advised her colleagues to rather pay attention to what God thinks about them.
DailyPost recalls that the Best of Nollywood’ Awards which held in Port Harcourt on Thursday 16th October saw Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers state allegedly insulting Nollywood practitioners in attendance, and since then, the issue has become a trending subject in the blogsphere. Many Nollywood stars have since seen the alleged Governor’s speech as an embarrassment to the industry.
The veteran Actress further encouraged her colleagues to work towards self-development instead of the growing melancholy among them over Amaechi’s speech.
Recall that during the Best of Nollywood’ Awards, Rotimi Amaechi allegedly said that the practitioners resorted to Acting because they couldn’t find other jobs, adding that they are products of circumstances.
“Whatever your hand findeth to do, do it well. Don’t look at what men say, but what you know and what God says. Whatever your hand findeth doing, do it well. It is the grace of God that has brought me this far,” Benson afirmed.
