ACN has nowhere to go in Ogun State -PDP

Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Ogun State chapter has accused the incumbent government led by the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, of modelling its style of government after the military.

It said Governor Ibikunle Amosun’s alleged dictatorship style had brought hardship to the people of the Gateway State.

The party said the ACN had failed the electorate and would be voted out of power in 2015.

It also stated that there were no more factions and intra-party crisis in the PDP, making the party a viable option to the ruling ACN

The state chairman of the party, Mr. Adebayo Dayo, said, “Can you tell me what this government has done that (former governor) Gbenga Daniel did not do? Our government did a lot. The other time (2011), people decided to change government; they wanted a change but they have realised that this change is not better.”

“Today, if we hold an (governorship) election in Ogun State, ACN has nowhere to go. The party is no more popular in Ogun State. It is the electorate that will decide.”

A top government official, who craved anonymity, however said there was no iota of truth in the allegation, adding that Dayo’s arguments were baseless and untrue.

He said, “He is only looking for cheap publicity. The PDP government could not sustain its free education programme; pupils once had their Senior Secondary Certificate Examination result seized due to the government’s failure to pay fees.

“Did Daniel construct any six-lane road with fly-over in Ogun? We have 16 of such projects ongoing in the state. People are now free, without any harassment from security details or government officials,” he added.
