Residents of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, have lamented the current power outage experienced in Kubwa, Dutse, Bwari and other areas of the Nigerian capital.
DAILY POST had reported that the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) is currently on zero allocation from the National Grid, following the collapse of the grid as at 5 a.m. on Thursday.
ADEC General Manager, Corporate Communication, Mr Oyebode Fadipe had said the collapse of the national grid interrupted power supply to its franchise areas of Kogi, Nasarawa, Niger and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)
However, speaking on the development, some residents who spoke to DAILY POST in an interview on Friday said the loss of power supply was affecting them in different ways, especially in their businesses, adding that their communities have been thrown into total darkness and could be prone robbery attacks.
They, however, urged the federal government to look into the epileptic power supply and find a lasting solution to the issue.
Here are some of the comments gathered by DAILY POST.
According to Emeka Chukwu, ‘’Nigeria is a joke. This power outage made my business to slow because everyone wanted cold drinks and I don’t have any to sell, I won’t make profit if this continues.
To Segun Adewale, ‘’Government needs to put more effort into giving us better power supply. The whole of yesterday, I was not able to achieve anything in my office because of this power outage.

With light, our customers have access to all our computers but with generator, we can only use three or four because that’s the much it can carry, so yesterday, we didn’t make much profit. The government should do something about this’’.
Shola Olapade, ”It’s sad and unfortunate that the government of this country is doing nothing to improve the power supply in this country. I went to work wearing rumpled clothes and it wasn’t nice at all’’.
