Abubakar Bukola Saraki, ABS FC, has unveiled former Super Eagles forward, Henry Makinwa, as its new Technical Manager.
Makinwa has put pen to paper on a two-year contract with the Nigeria National League (NNL) team.
During his playing days, he featured for Iwuanyanwu Nationale, Concord FC of Abeokuta before spells at Rayo Vallecano of Spain, Victorial Setubal of Portugal, Rapid Bucharest of Romania amongst others.
ABS Director of Football, Alloy Chukwuemeka, explained why Makinwa was picked for the job.
“We have spent the last six months looking for a coach that will take this club to the next level and back to the Nigerian Professional Football League.
“We have found this person in Henry Makinwa. His time at Rayo Vallecano playing and coaching will no doubt help the team tactically and he has the full backing of the ABS board to achieve results the fans deserve.
“Under the new arrangement, players and officials’ welfare would be given the utmost priority for them to excel and achieve the promotion target,” he said.
Makinwa, who holds a UEFA Pro-license coaching badge, also expressed his delight at the appointment.
“It is great to come back home to give back to the society what I’ve learnt abroad as a coach.
“I’m not promising heaven on earth, but hard work that can help the club achieve her target of promotion if not this year, then next year,” Makinwa told Completesportsnigeria.com. .
