Security operatives attached to a Polytechnic in Aba, Abia state have foiled an attempt to murder a student.
The suspects, who claimed to be students of the unnamed polytechnic, were said to be having issues with the student and had planned to murder him.
But luck ran out on them on Monday after police operatives swooped on them and aborted their plot.
The suspects were paraded before newsmen on Tuesday.
Confessing to the crime, one of the yet-to-be named suspects told newsmen they were having issues with the student and planned to kill him while he was writing his final examination but luck ran out on them when the security operatives requested to search one of the suspected killers’ bag.
“The police then discovered a locally manufactured pistol,” he confessed.
The state Commissioner of Police, CP, Leye Oyebade, who paraded the suspects, said investigations are ongoing.
