Abia North rerun: I will address MASSOB, IPOB problems if elected – Kalu

Ahead of the March 5th Abia North Senatorial rerun in Abia State, former governor of the state and candidate of the Progressive Peoples Alliance, PPA, Dr Orji Uzor Kalu has pledge to address problems, which brought about agitation by pro-Biafra groups such as Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, and the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB, if elected.

Kalu, while addressing supporters during the last phase of his campaign tour at his home town in Igbere, Abia North, said the issue of the pro-Biafra groups was sensitive and as such only a person like him who commands respect can handle it.

According to Kalu, if voted in as a senator, he would address the sentiments of the various agitators to the benefit of all.

He said, “Agitators, whether they are in MASSOB, IPOB or any other group, have their sentiments and if I get to the Senate, I will establish a proper dialogue between them and the Federal Government so that the problem will be settled amicably.

“With President Muhammadu Buhari, I know, we are going to find a common ground so that justice can be done where there is injustice and the people will be happy.”

Kalu also assured that if given the mandate, he would continue to champion the cause of Ndigbo while in the Senate.
