The Umuahia north local government legislative council in Abia State has suspended four of its members for gross misconduct.
The suspended members are Onyekachi Egbuonu, Mr. Chukwudi Elesigwe, Hon. Vivan (Nkwoachara) and Hon. Ononogbu
The majority leader of the legislative council, Hon. Uchechukwu Osinachi confirmed this on his Facebook page.
The leader wrote on his page, “After series of warning which some members refused to adhered to, the Umuahia north legislative council on an emergency plenary held on Wednesday, 6th of June 2018, suspended four erring members of the legislative council.
“This as a result of notice of motion for this suspension brought before the House.
“The house adjourned sitting sine die.”
Meanwhile, one of the suspended councillors, Onyekachi Egbuonu, when called on phone by DAILY POST for his reaction, declined to speak.
But, sources at the Umuahia north legislative council told DAILY POST that the suspended councillors had accused the leader of the legislative council, Hon. Benjamin China Ogbonna of misappropriating funds.
