Abia State House of Assembly, has announced the passage of the state’s 2015 appropriation bill of more than N105 billion.
The. Speaker, Hon. Ude Okochukwu, made the announcement during the House plenary session in Umuahia, the state capital.
He said the appropriation bill shall be deemed to have come into effect on January 1, 2015.
Earlier, while presenting the report of the budget to the House, the chairman House Committee on Appropriation, Mr. Martin Azubuike, said that the committee had recommended that adequate machinery be put in place for proper collection of the state revenue.
Azubuike noted that the 2015 budget will improve the state’s internally generated revenue (IGR) and the living conditions of the people.
