Abia first Youth Summit holds today

THE Central Bank Governor, Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi will today speak to thousands of Abia youth at the first Abia Youth Empowerment Summit, tagged A-YES.

Abia State Commissioner for Information, Dr. Eze Chikamnayo, said that Mallam Sanusi, who is the guest speaker, will deliver a paper on ‘Youth Empowerment as Panacea to Insecurity’

According to Dr. Eze Chikamnayo, the initiative is the first time in 20 years that Abia youth will assemble in unity to celebrate security, stability and prosperity, engineered by Governor Theodore Orji.

He noted that the summit will feature a lecture, youth empowerment initiative where buses, cars, tricycles among others will be given out.

The lecture entitled, “1st Ochendo Youth Lecture” will be delivered by Mallam Sanusi at the Michael Okpara Auditorium, Umuahia.

The official disclosed that the award ceremony and gala night which will be graced by a galaxy of A-list Nigerian artistes are scheduled for Umuahia Township Stadium.

The state government urged Abians to attend the event en-masse as adequate preparations had been made to ensure a memorable event.
