Sequel to the persistent reports on vandalizing of billboards belonging to members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State, stakeholders of the party in Abia South senatorial zone, have said it will no longer tolerate the attitude of the rascal vandals who don’t mean well for the people.
The APC stakeholders spoke through the leader of Ukwa/Ngwa APC caucus, Sir Marc Wabara in Ohambele, Ukwa East Local government area of the state on Tuesday, saying they will follow due process and pay whatever government demands for placement of billboards, but they must beef up security to ensure they’re not vandalized by opponents.
Wabara urged party members to remain resolute as records are there to show that no opposition party was finding Abia easy to operate.
He said: “Our inquiries show that other opposition parties are suffering the same wrongs. We’ve engaged authorities and whatever it will take in terms of legal fees, we will make those payments without delay.
“But what we’ll not fold our arms on is the ones destroyed by our opponents. We will up security. The attention of the security agencies and the party leadership at all levels has been brought to the unfortunate situation and it must end.
“Our billboards are destroyed because our opponents are now afraid of what we are going to do come next year. We must go out there and do our things without fear. We shall fear no man except God. We shall not look down on anybody. I have no fear that change will come into Abia in 2019.”
Meanwhile, the Abia State Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress,(APC), Comrade Benedict Godson has told the Peoples Democratic Party-led government in the state that no amount of intimidation will deter APC from sacking Governor Okezie Ikpeazu from the government house come 2019.
Godson who spoke with DAILY POST on Tuesday, boasted that his party (APC) was poised to win the 2019 elections, so as to rescue Abia people from poverty and hunger.
