A Former gubernatorial aspirant of the Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, in Kano state, Alhaji Muhammed Sani Abacha, has announced his plan to build a power generating plant in Jigawa state.
Abacha made this known during his recent visit to the governor of the state, Sule Lamido.
Muhammed Abacha, who is the chairman of Crystal Sugar Company, Hadeija, noted that the company will build a plant capable of generating 150 megawatts of electricity in the state.
He added that his visit to the government house was to brief the governor on the activities of the company he bought from the Jigawa state government five months ago, adding that part of short term plans of the company was to exploit the water from Hadeijia valley to generate electricity for the state.
Abacha told Governor Lamido that when completed, the company will have up to 30,000 workforce, producing animal feeds as well as ethanol. He said he will also require additional 30,000 hectares of land for sugar cane plantation along Hantsu in Miga local government area of Jigawa state.
