The African Action Congress (AAC) has suspended Omoyele Sowore as National Chairman of the party.
This was announced at the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja on Monday, Channels TV reports.
Sowore is being suspended for alleged anti-party activities.
He was suspended alongside other members of his executive.
A new acting national chairman of AAC, Leonard Nzenwa, has immediately been sworn-in.
The committee explained that Sowore was suspended over alleged failure to convene NEC meeting and financial misappropriation.
His suspension is to last six months except overturned by a National Convention of the party.
