The Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, says 800 suspected violent Fulani herdsmen have been arrested by security agents across the country.

Osinbanjo’s media aide, Laolu Akande, quoted the number two man as making the disclosure in Texas, US, during an interactive session with some Nigerians based in the country.

The Vice President said it was wrong for people to assume that the suspects were carrying out their heinous acts because Buhari, who is a Fulani man was at the helm of affairs.

He said, “The president has given firm instructions to the security agencies to arrest not only herdsmen who are attacking communities anywhere in the country, but anyone of them or anyone at all in possession of firearms.

“There are about 800 of suspected violent herdsmen in the country that are currently in custody.”

Osinbajo observed that as long as grazing lands disappear, leaving cattle to feed on peoples’ farmlands, the herdsmen/farmers crises will persist for a longtime.

On the arrest of alleged corrupt judges, the Vice President said the current administration was out to checkmate such, stressing that due process was followed.

Recall that the Department of State Service, DSS, recently arrested some judges across the country for alleged corrupt practices and professional misconduct.
