Barely two weeks after a 50-year-old woman was gruesomely murdered by suspected ritualists with her breasts cut off in Arigidi-Akoko in Akoko South West Local Government Area of Ondo State, another woman has been killed in the same manner in the community.
With the town still grappling with the death of the palm-oil seller known as Iya Dunsi, who was killed some few meters from her residence on April 10, the corpse of the latest victim identified as Kajusola Mogaji, was discovered in the pool of her blood in her room with her breasts already severed off by her assailants also suspected to be ritualists.
The 80-year-old grandmother was said to have been smashed on the head in the night at her residence at Imo quarters in Arigidi-Akoko as none of her co-occupants was at home when the incident reportedly happened.
This is the second time such incident is happening within the spate of one month in the town, with the state police command through the Akoko North West Divisional Police Officer, SP Ibitayo Adetanranmi, assuring that the perpetrators would be apprehended, but no one has been nabbed.
One of her children, Mrs. Kehinde Adewumi, who is currently devastated on the gruesome death of her mother, described the act as the highest of wickedness.
She called on security agents to unmask those behind her mother’s death.
Confirming the incident, the Divisional Police officer in-Charge of Okeagbe-Akoko, SP Ibitayo Adetanranmi, who led his men to the scene of the incident, vowed that the police would do everything possible to arrest the culprits.
The corpse of the 80-year-old grand-mother has since been deposited in the mortuary at State Specialist Hospital, Ikare-Akoko.
