7 killed, 30 injured in Damaturu multiple explosions

An explosion at Bayan Tasha in Damaturu, the Yobe state capital has left seven people dead while 30 others were seriously injured.

Governor Ibrahim Geidam who visited the scene of the incident this afternoon said government will take responsibility of the bills and care for the patients.

An eyewitness told DAILY POST on phone that earlier, two female teens who were suspected to be behind the incident had been seen around the area before the explosion occurred.

According to him, ” we saw two female teens and we suspect they were behind the explosion. While we were still talking about the girls, that was when we heard the blast behind the motor park. We did not see the corpses of the two suspects because some of the body parts were in bits and pieces.”

Hamsisu Lawal, who said they helped carry some corpses to Sani Abacha hospital in Damaturu claimed that among the 30 critically hospitalized, 5 were badly injure with their chest burst opened by the blast.
