A 62-year-old man, Johnson Oyelade, was on Thursday arraigned in an Osogbo Magistrates’ Court over alleged fraud.
Oyelade is facing a three-count charge of fraud against him.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Sunday Ajayi told the court that the accused committed the offense on Jan. 20 , at about 1:00pm,at Moja area, Osogbo.
Ajayi said Oyelade deceived one Ayuba Garba with the intent to sell a Bajaj motorcycle to him by collecting N130,000 knowing to be false.
He said the accused had been on the run before he was finally arrested and brought to the court.
He said the offence committed contravened sections 516,419, and 390(9) of the criminal code cap 34 vol. 11 laws of Osun. 2003.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the three-count charge against him.
Counsel to the accused, Mrs Adeyinka Bose, prayed the Magistrate to grant her client bail in the most liberal terms.
The Magistrate, Mr Olubukola Olowolagba granted the accused bail in the sum of N200,000 and two sureties in like sum.
Olowolagba said the sureties must reside within the court jurisdiction with evidence of tax payment and two passport sized photographs, attached with an affidavit of means.
The case was adjourned to March.13 for mention.
