Six persons were feared dead and 13 others seriously injured in a fatal accident that occurred along the ever-busy Ibadan-Sagamu expressway in Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State on Monday.
The tragic incident, according to the Sagamu Unit Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Commander, Mr. Lanreaju Ogundele involved a Toyota Hiace bus with registration number, Sokoto GWD 20 XA heading to Lagos from Sokoto.
He said that among the victims were three children, two males and one female adults. He said: “19 persons were involved but only six died; others are in very critical conditions as we speak and receiving treatments at Idera Hospital in Sagamu. Corpses of the three children as well as that of the two male and one female adult had been deposited at Fakoya Hospital Mortuary in Sagamu.
Ogundele urged drivers to be careful while driving and avoid over speeding most especially during this harmattan period.
“It is very important for drivers to be very careful when they drive in foggy weather condition especially when visibility is impaired, drivers should drive with common sense speed limit,” he warned
