About 500 members of Green Party of Nigeria (GPN) have left the party for the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Boi ward Bogoro LGA of Bauchi.
The NNPP chairman in Bogoro branch, Mr Andrawus ishaku made the disclosure while receiving the decampees.
He said NNPP is now a better platform and final destination for sustainable democracy.
According to the chairman, other political parties that ruled have failed the nation.
He advised Nigerians to embrace and support NNPP as an option ahead of the 2019 election
Ishaku noted NNPP has wider space and is ready to accommodate aggrieved Nigerians whose interest are not protected in other political parties.
Leader of the decampees, a secretary to Bogoro GPN Mr Silas bukata said their defection followed lack of internal democracy in GPN
He added that from all indication, NNPP is a party that can take Nigerians out of their woes
“Be assured that today’s occasion is a milestone as many are coming to the fold of NNPP.
“The ruling party has failed”, said Bukata.
