A 50-year-old man, Akintilebo Akinwumi, was on Monday remanded by an Ile-Ife Magistrates’ Court, Osun, for allegedly shooting one Blessing Fagbemigbe to death.

The prosecutor, Insp. Christian Olajide, told the court that the accused had also attempted to kill three other persons identified as Samson Ogekakin, Eluyera Lekan and Chukwu Felix.

The Magistrate, Muhibah Olatunji told the court that the accused committed the offences on Sept. 5, at 5:30p.m. at Ita-Akogun Street, Ile-Ife.

Olatunji, however, ordered that suspect be remanded because her court lacked the power to handle the case effectively.

She also ordered that the case file be forwarded to the Office of the State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legal advice.

The offences contravened Sections 316, 319 (1) and 320 (1), Laws of Osun, 2002.

The magistrate adjourned the case until Oct 2 for mention.
