50 year-old man arraigned for stealing motorcycle in Osun

A 50-year-old man, Oladimeji Adekoloye, has been arraigned before a Magistrates’ court sitting in Osogbo on Tuesday for stealing a motorcycle.

The police prosecutor, Inspector Mustapha Tajudeen while briefing the court said the accused person committed the offence on November 19,2017 at about 16:30pm at Ogo-Oluwa area,Osogbo.

He explained that the accused person and others now at large conspired to commit felony to wit stealing of one Boxer Bajaj motorcycle with Engine Number DUZWHB40408 and Chassis Number MD2A18AY6HWB53041 valued at two hundred and sixty thousand naira (#260,000,00), property of one Inaolaji Saheed.

Tajudeen added that the accused person was arrested with the stolen motorcycle by police detectives.

He noted that the offence committed contravened Sections 516 and 383(1)and punishable under section 390(9) of the criminal code cap 34 vol. 11 laws of Osun State of Nigeria, 2002.

The defence counsel, I. Ikuobasi prayed the court to grant his client bail in a liberal term and assured the court that he would be present in court for trial.

The Magistrate, Mr Tunde Badmus, granted the accused person bail in the sum of N200,000 with one surety in like some.

Badmus ruled that the surety must reside within the court jurisdiction and produce evidence of 3 years tax clearance with affidavit of means and 3 passport sized photographs.

The case was later adjourned till March 23, 2018 for hearing.
