A 49-year-old man, Okechukwu Igwe, on Wednesday, appeared before an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State for allegedly threatening another person’s life with dangerous weapon.
The defendant, who pleaded not guilty, is facing a three-count charge bordering on breach of peace, threat to life and being in possession of a dangerous weapon.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Mary Ajiteru told the court that the accused committed the offences on July 3 at 5.30pm at Takutijesu St., Jerry Farm, Odogunyan, Ikorodu.
Ajiteru noted that the defendant unlawfully possessed a dangerous weapon, one knife, and also conducted himself in a manner likely to cause a breach of public peace.
She said the offences contravened Sections 411, 168, 42(d) and 409(d) of Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Magistrate, Mr O. M. Dawodu admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties each in like sum.
He adjourned the case until August 1 for mention, NAN reports.
