A 34-year-old man, Kolawole Haruna, was on Wednesday arraigned before an Ikeja Chief Magistrate Court for allegedly raping his neighbour’s 13-year-old daughter.
Haruna, a resident of No.19 Ayobode Street, Oke Ira, Ogba area of the state was arraigned on a two count charge bordering on rape.
The prosecutor, Sergeant Raphael Donny, told the court that Donny had on March 19, 2017 lured the 13-year -old into his room on the pretext of sending her on an errand before forcing his way on her.
“The accused shut the door and raped her,“ Donny told the court.
The offence contravened Sections 257 and 259 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
When the charges were read to Haruna, he pleaded not guilty.
Consequently, the Chief Magistrate, Mrs Davies Abegunde, granted the applicant bail in the sum of N500, 000, with two sureties in like sum.
The Chief Magistrate adjourned the case till May 15.
