Tragedy struck on Orisunmibare Street in Akure, the Ondo State capital as a 33-year-old man identified as Gbenga Ogundana reportedly took his own life in his apartment days after losing his job.
Ogundana was discovered dead in his room after four days search. He was alleged to have committed suicide after he was dismissed from the firm he worked.
Reacting to the suicide, a resident said, “Gbenga must have terminated his own life through poison after being sacked from work.”
It was further learnt that the elder brother of the deceased, one Segun Ogundana took it upon himself to force himself into the deceased’s room after several unpicked calls.
Segun was alleged to have forced himself into the brother’s room with the aide of the deceased neighbours only to discover the decomposing remains of the victim.
Confirming the incident, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Wole Ogodo said investigation into unravelling the mystery surrounding the deceased’s death has commenced.
He also stated that the corpse of the deceased has been deposited at the morgue of the State Specialist Hospital, Akure.
